Apparently, time itself has also flown along with the broken parts of all objects wrecked by gentle giant Ralph in this film’s 2012 predecessor Wreck-It Ralph.

It’s hard to digest how quickly eight years flies by, especially when it seems like only yesterday that I had a good laugh watching it, thanks to the voice talents of John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman who brought primary characters Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz to life with so much wit.

In this sequel, our heroes find themselves forced to leave the comforts of Litwak’s arcade in a bid to save Vanellope’s Mario Kart-like racing game, “Sugar Rush”. Their quest takes them from the relatively sheltered world of video gaming to unchartered territory—the seemingly borderless and volatile realm known as the Internet. There, they are welcomed by the Netizens; citizens of this bizarre new world while making new friends along the way to completing their mission.

Suffice it to say that with the same voice actors, director, producer, and writer of the first movie all onboard, Ralph Breaks The Internet is still packed with the same wry humor and charismatic characters that made its predecessor so endearing to both the young and young at heart.

This animated movie is to the internet what Ready Player One is to ‘80s pop culture, so all you netizens with an eye for detail, prepare to eat your heart out. But more than just spotting online spoofs and witticisms, you’ll leave the cinema thanking Disney for yet another timely reminder about the enduring importance of friendship in this digital age we live in.
